Re: The Underworld Fundraier Feb 21, 09
Sat, October 18, 2008 - 11:29 PMSecret societies were big in the Victorian era... it helped further define the classes, the who's who if you will... Fraternal orders were huge... and powerful. Since we are embracing the Victorian aspects, the secret society is a natural fit into the order of things.
The Underworld Secret Society is the supporters of the Underworld, and yes there will be some perks for those who are members. Entrance into the society comes one of two ways:
Service to the Underworld
Support of the Underworld
Service is determined by the more senior members (they know who they are, even if they don't know fully about this yet ;)... since this is all new, we are working on how this will work, but of course, it will be a fun and rewarding experience) .
Support, this comes in the form of financial support... yes, like the rich- you can buy your way in ;) seems like some things never change eh? We are still working out the exact numbers, perks and details and will post more once we get things more settled.
As for waiting for the fundraiser to join... very interesting idea Bridgit. Let me bring the idea forward and see what shakes out. -

Re: The Underworld Fundraier Feb 21, 09
Thu, October 30, 2008 - 7:00 AMMay I suggest a name change? (just a thought here). Instead of "Secret Society" how about "The Hellfire Club?" If you read this Wickipedia entry on it, you'll see why it's appropriate--and cooler than just the name Secret Society!!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellfire_Club
Not to mention it is used in the X-Men comics--a personal fave!! (sorry--geeking out there!) -

Thu, October 30, 2008 - 10:01 PMDamn, that IS a better name for it... let me check in with a few peeps just to make sure no one objects to it, consider yourself the offical "namer" of the former USS (now known as the Underworld Hellfire Club)
Yeah, it's definately got a ring to it for sure!

Re: The Underworld Fundraier Feb 21, 09
Mon, December 22, 2008 - 11:06 AMMy educated guess would be that Chaos didn't have the bandwith to plan something at the height of Dickens season? That mad is always MAD busy this time of year. -
-
Re: The Underworld Fundraier Feb 21, 09
Mon, December 22, 2008 - 1:24 PMHey--I'd be willing to help plan and carry this out as well. Maybe a later date at this point? -
-
Re: The Underworld Fundraier Feb 21, 09
Mon, December 22, 2008 - 11:41 PMCan't do latter dates at that location due to other commitments by the hosts. Also not only Chaos was wrapped up in Dickens but many of the crew too, so it became obvious that the 6 P's couldn't be followed.
I think we should have a few benefits though throughout the year. Who wants to be in on meeting in person and and planning ahead of time? The new NIMBY location is nearly 10 full miles closer to the South Bay and has a BART station just a few long ghetto blocks away. As a matter of fact we should be able to enjoy and hear the BART trains squeal as they brake to stop at the Coliseum station!
